Duct and Air Sealing in Hillsboro, Oregon
Save Money All Year Long
Duct
Leaks force your system to run longer and work harder to keep you
comfortable. In Many Oregon homes, heating and cooling costs are increased
by 20% to 30% because of duct leakage. With a Duct Leakage Test, our Home
Visions West technicians can estimate how much money you are losing in
unnecessary utility bills. Sealing duct leaks will lower your utility bills
so you will have more money to spend on other things. And lower utility
bills also mean higher property value.

The Importance Of Duct Sealing
Leaky ductwork steals away system performance taking away with it your investment in high efficiency equipment. For example, a 13 SEER air conditioning unit connected to a duct system with 30% leakage costs as much to operate as a less expensive 10 SEER unit connected to a tight duct system. In addition, leaky duct systems often make it necessary to install oversized heating and cooling systems which are more expensive to buy and operate. Duct leaks can also pull outside air directly into the ductwork, forcing your system to run longer to keep you comfortable. Sealing leaky ductwork can add years of life to your heating and cooling system. and if you're thinking of purchasing a new system, don't connect it up to leaky ductwork. Get the efficiency and performance you paid for.
High Tech Diagnostic Tools We Use
Only The Best For Your Home
With the development of specialized diagnostic tools, it is possible to test a duct system and measure the extent of the problem. Using these tools, Home Visions West can quickly diagnose your duct leakage problems. And if repairs are made, we will re-test to ensure that the problems have been solved.
The Blower Door
The Blower Door system is used to find and measure air leaks in ductwork. The Blower Door forces air through all leaks between the duct system and unconditioned spaces such as attics, crawl spaces and garages. Then using chemical smoke or a leak detection tool called a pressure pan, we can quickly pinpoint duct leaks in your home.
The Duct Blaster®
The Duct Blaster® is used to pressure test your duct system for air
leaks, much the same way a plumber pressure tests your water pipes for
leaks. After temporarily sealing the registers and grilles, The Duct
Blaster® fan is connected to the duct system to force air through all the
holes and cracks in the ductwork. A precise leakage measurement is then made
using the airflow and pressure monitor connected.
