Spring Cleaning!: What To Look
For
No matter what the weather is like in your area,
it is officially spring time and time for spring cleaning. Spring is also a
great time to inspect your house after the winter chill is over and see if you
need more storage, a maid service to help out, or a professional organizer. Many
people don't realize what type of home maintenance they need to do.

Around The House Tip of The Month
"Personalize With Paint"
Painting is an easy and inexpensive way to make a
dramatic and instant impact on a room. When choosing a paint color, find one
that is going to inspire you, make you happy and create a desired mood. Dark
dramatic colors are great for those who are not up for frequent changes.
However, neutrals, available in light, medium and dark tones, are the most
accepting of colors, which is ideal for those who want to continually add the
latest color trends or seasonal decorations.

Increase the Selling Price of
Your House with Painting! Bob Vila of
This Old House fame tells people to “…be kind to their neighbors when picking a
color scheme.” His house painting advice is echoed by realtors and builders
across the country. The color that you paint your house, they say, can affect
the value of all the other houses in your neighborhood. That’s one of the
reasons that many homeowner associations limit house painting color choices for
homes in their communities.

After
The Project - Quick Tips
After your bathroom remodeling has been finished by a qualify
contractor, here are some quick tips to give your bath a distinctive
look. Add a simple detail, such as a picture rail or shelf along one
wall, to display framed prints or small figurines.
Fill antique bowls or shaving mugs with pretty toiletries, such as soaps
or bath salts. If you have room, consider adding a piece of outdoor
furniture like a woven chair or table. Add accent lighting to your
bathroom remodeling, like a low-voltage strip of lights around the top
edge of the wall tile.
Draw attention to the ceiling with ornamental wood beams. Line an entire
wall with mirrored cabinets. They will make the room look considerably
more open. Instead of paint, try a colored stain to revitalize wood
cabinets. Mix and match colors by using a light-colored stain for the
backdrop and then apply a brighter color to some of the drawers. Add
bright flowers or flowering plants to the room.
Look for unusual vessels, such as wall vases, old watering cans or
window boxes to hold your favorite plants. Attach a beveled mirror to
the wall over the sink and frame it with tiles. You can use a selection
of mix-and-match tiles or try some colorful styles.
